History

The choir was formed in 1988 with  only eight members and the hymns were sung in unison. As time moved on the numbers grew and at present choir  numbers forty six members. At the outset, the choir practised in the upper room of the old convent, next to the music room. With the closure of the convent, practises moved across the road to the church.

The choir prepares for two  for the two major feasts of the year – Christmas and Easter. Practises are held on Wednesday nights from 8.00 to 10.00. The present organist is Rioghna Curtin, whose outstanding playing has been an enormous benefit to the choir. Aoife Daly keeps the music flowing as an expert page turner as well as being a singer.

For the last three years the choir has performed in  Christmas concerts in Abbeyfeale and also in Tralee.
